Politics may still be mostly a boys’ club, but more and more female political advisors and strategists are becoming leaders.
Kellyanne Conway broke barriers as the first woman to manage a successful presidential campaign with the election of former President Donald Trump in 2016. And in 2020, Jennifer O’Malley Dillon was the first woman to manage a winning Democratic presidential campaign — that of President Joe Biden.
But there is a burgeoning group of women influencing campaigns who may not have household names — yet. They are fundraising, coalition building, messaging, and polling. And some are working hard to recruit and help female candidates shatter glass ceilings in statehouses and on Capitol Hill leading up to the 2022 midterms and 2024 elections.
